The engineering group continues the process of growth by external lines and creates the new “Transport Technology” division.

Ferrara, Naples – 2 July 2025 – INCICO, a Ferrara-based group that is one of Italy’s leading players in the civil engineering and plant engineering sectors, announces the acquisition of Italiana Sistemi srl, a historic design company based in Naples and specialising in infrastructure and plant engineering in the rail and road sectors. The transaction saw Translink Italy act as financial advisor.
The acquisition is part of INCICO Group’s medium-long term strategy, aimed at strengthening its expertise in infrastructure sectors through integration with qualified and consolidated companies in Italy.
As a result of this operation, the Group reaches a turnover of 25 million euros and can count on more than 250 specialised engineers in its 9 operating offices in Italy, the United Arab Emirates and India, developed to support the Group’s needs in geographical areas with a high potential for
development.
With the entry of Italiana Sistemi, the new Business Unit ‘Transport Technology’ was also created, which will flank the already existing divisions ‘Infrastructures’, “Plants” and ‘Energy & Efficiency’, favouring the creation of intragroup synergies for the numerous projects in which INCICO is involved.
On the managerial front, the current CEO of Italiana Sistemi, Arrigo La Tessa, will play a central role in the development of future strategies and will join INCICO’s management team as Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of the Group for projects related to
infrastructure in the transport sector. To accompany the future development of Italiana Sistemi, in the coming months new resources will be added to the team in Naples and collaborations will be initiated with some of the main academic realities in the area, with the aim of expanding the range of competences to support new projects.
The history, experience and specific know-how of Italiana Sistemi in the road and railway engineering sector, in particular for its expertise in the design of complex works, such as tracks, stations, tunnels, bridges and railway viaducts, will allow the INCICO Group to have a valid partner to support it in the numerous infrastructure projects in which it is involved.
In particular, INCICO was involved in the design of the railway stations of Trieste, Palermo, Messina, Syracuse, Marsala, Foligno and in the construction of the new hub of Bari, as well as in the doubling of some sections of the Adriatic line. The Group’s Infrastructure Division, on the water infrastructure front, has drawn up the Technical-Economic Feasibility Projects and is currently involved in the Works Management of the new desalination plants in Trapani, Gela and Porto Empedocle, strategic works for the management of the current water crisis.
‘The acquisition of Italiana Sistemi is not only a strategic step for our development, but also a meeting of complementary people, skills and professional histories,’ says INCICO’s CEO, Eng. Olivier Severini. “We share with this historical reality a vision of engineering as a lever for innovation and sustainable infrastructure development. The union of our competences reinforces the valorisation of our human capital and allows us to expand our offer, guaranteeing continuity in the values that distinguish us: reliability, quality and concrete attention to the client’s needs.”
The combination of Italiana Sistemi’s expertise with INCICO’s multidisciplinary know-how will enable us to tackle increasingly complex projects, while maintaining the focus on innovation, design precision and the ability to listen to the customer,’ adds Engineer Arrigo La Tessa, founder of Italiana Sistemi and now CTO (Chief Technical Officer) of Infrastructure & Transport Technology at INCICO.‘We are convinced that this synergy will give rise to engineering solutions with high added value, capable of making a difference in the territories and for communities in an ever-changing sector.’
